May 1 - A Locked Room
The P. Diddy allegations really expose how depraved and hypocritical our elites are. YEARS after the Harvey Weinstein allegations (which were themselves actively hidden and forgotten by a hundred Hollywood stars and executives) surfaced ANOTHER grotesque sequence of allegations have hit the news.
Where were the executives who heard rumors? Where were the artists who knew something was going on but were willing to risk their wealth to do the right thing? Where were the journalists and media companies willing to go to battle against libel charges to help the little guy? Where were the MANY female victims who knew that they were facing a Sisyphean task but went to the police because it was the right thing to do?
As usual, almost everyone involved in this is cowardly, grasping, cynical, or evil. There are more and less powerful actors but few innocent victims. If you’re an aspiring actor or musician who trades sex for access then you’ve made a choice. If you’re a hireling or journalist or coworker who witnesses things and keeps them secret you’re made a choice. Unfortunately it seems that there’s very little courage in these circles.
People sacrifice careers (rarely, but they do) to stand up against cancel culture and aggressive autogynephilia and bad social science. Where are the people willing to sacrifice in the name of justice? They’re out there but it seems they are extremely rare. Allegations like these should shame every collaborator and executive and actor, just as the Weinstein allegations should have ruined dozens of Hollywood stars.
Instead the dam breaks and the conspirators toss a single body to the authorities and close ranks. It’s predictable and disgusting.
