ADHD and autism is no joke, for the first we have wonderful medication. For asd...eh. If you happened to be the one good at math maybe there's place for you in a startup. Life is hell with asperger

I would find your point about responsibility compelling, except for the lack of clarity about "social expectations". Presumably we can agree that some social expectations are actually, intrinsically, good, but others are just arbitrary things that some authority or some aggregate of normal people happen to like (like having background music in a workplace, or that kids ought to always sit still while "learning").

We know we do NOT have a moral responsibility to follow bad laws, nor bad social conventions (like stating your pronouns). There's some value to being able to cope with arbitrary bullshit, to a point, as there's value to being able to cope with adversity in general. Beyond that point, it's destructive to the pursuit of being able to make decisions and cultivate judgement. People can legitimately disagree about whether bright lights and loud noises and artificial flower smells are Bad or Good. If you don't clearly differentiate between such matters of opinion and matters of morality, it undermines what Bad and Good actually mean.
