More Substack Notes… just working my way through the queue:
Today's updated approval rating average is a new all-time low for Biden. Which is odd, because according to the mainstream media, Biden’s SOTU address was one of the greatest oratory performances ever.
“The hetero-normative framework for thinking of gender as binary was imposed by colonial powers on the Global South, to track the legacies of slavery and colonialism engaged in brutal surgical and sexological practices of determining and “correcting” sex in light of ideals of whiteness … Gender norms were created through surgical racism. Black bodies were the experimental field from which white gender norms were crafted. Dimorphism serves the reproduction of the normative white family in the United States.” (-Judith Butler)
The golden rule of the woke applies: everything is a product of white supremacy! But of all the things you could call “socially constructed,” the sex binary is the least plausible. It existed in our species before we even achieved the intelligence to call it a sex binary. It existed before humans even evolved into the separate and mostly distinct genetic clusters we now call race. How’s that for pre-cultural! It is in countless species that have no access to an array of “practices, discourses, and technologies.” It structures our entire existence. Not a single cell in the body is unaffected by our sex. Our entire reproductive strategy as a mammal is rooted in it. If you can turn even this into a human invention — malleable and indeterminate and a “spectrum” — there is nothing real outside us at all.

How much one “sexualizes” women is among the most important cultural differences based on class and ideology that exist within American society.
American public schools are exactly like Montessori schools for queer theory, critical race theory, and other subsets of Marxism: practicing it and integrating it into the minds, hearts, and personalities of the students without any need for explicit, named instruction in the formal structure of the theories involved.
Since Trump’s victory, a defining feature of American politics has been the rightward shift of voters of color. Asian, Black and Hispanic voters have all become less likely to support Democratic candidates and more likely to support Republicans, including Trump.
In each group, the trend is pronounced among working-class voters, defined as those without a four-year college degree.
-David Leonhardt, NYT
When even the New York Times is admitting a loss of working class support by the Democrats you KNOW the trend is real!
At this point I'm convinced that at least half of the explanation for the persistence of wokeness is just: it's a money/status/power grab by liberal arts majors and contractors and non-profits. Between DEI, ESG, selective hiring practices, and government contracts the whole thing is just a money trough... and none of the resources or funds are actually flowing to 'marginalized' people. Weird
